As noted in my background, I recently completed a year-long training in Internal Family Systems Therapy, a model of therapy which was developed by Richard Schwartz PhD about 30 years ago. IFS is an experiential, non-pathologizing approach to therapy that allows clients to explore their inner lives gently and respectfully. The basic assumption of this model is that each human being—regardless of their circumstances or trauma—possesses a core of untarnished Self energy from which flows an endless amount of love and self-compassion. IFS therapy helps clients understand and love themselves more deeply, let go of negative beliefs about themselves, and access their internal resource of Self energy, experiencing significant shifts in well-being. Given my background and interest in art, I love to bring creativity into my work.
I also have background with Lyme Disease, depression, trauma, and anxiety. Other interests include natural approaches to health and well-being including diet, faith, art, the spiritual journey, and meditation. Currently I am seeing individual adults in therapy.
